New Free eBook Reveals Tips for Vacationing in Costa Rica
Pennsville, NJ (PRWEB) December 5, 2007 -- While researching vacation spots in the Caribbean, publisher Joe Farinaccio uncovered some valuable tips and information on Costa Rica. He announced he's giving them away in a free ebook, "Insider Tips and Activities Guide for Costa Rica," to anyone looking for a unique, tropical getaway. The following activities are among those discussed in this ebook:
1. See beaches world-renown for their breathtaking beauty, minus the large crowds. Hollywood stars, and other famous personalities, have enjoyed these quiet Costa Rican havens for years because it's always possible to carve out one's own slice of "private paradise" along the shore.
2. The world-class sport fishing is excellent, whether booking a half-day charter or multi-day fishing tour. The Osa Peninsula region, for example, is teeming with sailfish, blue marlins, striped marlins, sea bass, yellow fin tuna, wahu, roosterfish, mackerel, dorado and red snapper.
3. Costa Rica's volcanoes and natural hot springs are much closer to North America than Hawaii's. Instead of traveling halfway around the world to watch lava flow and then sip cocktails while relaxing in natural hot spring afterwards, North Americans can prepare to experience the same things after only a 2-hour flight from Miami.
4. Take a famous canopy or "zipline" ride. A series of cables glide riders atop the rain forest's canopy for an exhilarating ride above the trees. Riders have the sensation they're flying in the air over the jungle beneath.
5. Rappel down live jungle waterfalls. There are a huge number of small, yet spectacular waterfalls throughout Costa Rica. Skilled guides take participants down the inclines of many of them using double ropes so vacationers can reach the tranquil pools at the bottom for private lunches and tropical swims.
6. Shoot pictures on a "river safari" without going all the way to Africa. Most naturalists/guides who typically host these riverboat tours will even do the paddling. This allows riders to shoot pictures of monkeys, toucans, iguanas, crocodiles and many of the hundreds of other wildlife species frequently encountered on these trips.
7. Tour an authentic coffee plantation. Costa Rican coffee estates give coffee lovers a real-world look at how coffee beans go from the field to supermarket shelf. The whole process is covered -- including how the beans are grown, harvested and finally processed. Of course, fresh cups of "java" are usually waiting at the end of these tours, along with treats such as chocolate-covered coffee beans.
8. Visit Tortuguero National Park during turtle-nesting season. This event, along Costa Rica's Caribbean coast, is a favorite for nature lovers. Naturalists are amazed the baby turtles that hatch and leave during this event don't come back for 25 years before taking their turn in the reproductive process.
9. Ride river rapids that accommodate a wide variety of experience levels. Certified bi-lingual guides accompany thrill seekers to ensure these trips are as safe as possible. Costa Rica's abundant supply of rivers makes it seem like one of these rides is always within easy travel distance, no matter where one is in the country.
