New Online Program Helps Left Handed People Learn to Knit Easily

Most books only teach from left to right, but for those who are left handed it is more natural to work right to left. Ms. Stewart goes on to say: "Many left handed knitters find it easier to learn to knit using right to left instructions. Once they have mastered the basic techniques (cast on, cast off, knit and purl) they can start to create beautiful items for themselves, for family, and even for the community. However, when they want to move on to more creative and advanced projects it is generally very difficult, as most pattern writers do favor right-handed knitters. For this reason, learning the Continental method would be an advantage, as they will not have to re-write the instructions. We address this in the new program that we are offering online."

Some of her past students would seem to agree. Annette, from Colorado, states that, "For years I wanted to enjoy this craft. I struggled with the English method, knitting from left to right, and I found it so difficult, I just couldn't switch my brain to think right handed.
