Free Tennis and Zina Garrison at Sport Fit Open House

Bowie, MD (PRWeb) January 9, 2007 -- This weekend, Sport Fit Bowie is having its Tennis Open House, the largest tennis event of the year. Hundreds of tennis enthusiasts attend each year and a dozen tennis pros from the Sport Fit Staff and the local area will be entertaining them for hours. The whole event is free and open to the public. Certain events will have restricted registration. Registration is available online by going to www.sportfitbowie.com

• Zina Garrison, former top ten player on the women's tour and current Fed Cup Coach
• Kevin McClure, Director of Tennis at Sport Fit Bowie
• Rozzell Lightfoot, Head Pro - Sport Fit Bowie's ACE Junior Tennis Academy
• Staff Pros: Arthur Burton, Marjorie Collins, Zed Debebe, and Julian DeLaine
• Assistants: John Garr, Jackie Garr, Steve Lowry, Peter Maioriello, Margie Nicholson, Matt Nicholson, George Odiong, Rob Tennant and others
• Special visits from Ray Stewart of Head Racquet Sports (providing assistance and demo racquets) and Steve Emerson (during Pee Wees with the "Server Wand")

• 10:00-11:30am Ladies Workshop for Intermediate - Advanced Players
• 12:30-2:00pm Adult Total Workout Drills
• 3:00-4:30 Tournament Level Training Adult and Junior (Advanced only)
• 4:45-5:15 Kids Magic Show/Entertainment
• 5:15-6:00 Pee Wee Tennis (4-8yrs)
• 6:30-7:30 Doubles Strategy
• 7:30-9:30 Doubles Play and Party
Saturday
• 10:00-11:30 Junior Clinic (9-16 years old)
• 11:30-1:00 Adult Clinis - Beginner - Intermediate(ltd to 48)
• 1:30-2:30 Exhibition Match

Sport Fit Bowie sports six hard court indoor tennis courts, three outdoor har-tru courts, three racquetball courts, a wood floor basketball court, three pools, a dynamic cardiovascular area with dozens of machines, Cybex, Hammer Strength, and Free Weights. It also has one of the most comprehensive regular class schedules that include dance, aerobics, step, yoga, pilates, a variety of martial arts/boxing programs and cycle classes. The kid's fitness program has a new program area and the babysitting area has nearly doubled this past year. Babysitting is available during the Open House (call for hours), however, reservations must be made in advance and the cost will be $2/hr for nonmembers.
